itunes 1418

Solution for Error 1418 when trying to sync your iPod with itunes

Things to try first:

Make sure you have the latest version of itunes
Unplug the Ipod and plug it back in, try to restore.
Try another Usb Port if you have one
If you got any other USB devices plugged in, unplug them if possible.

Final solution

I would recommend to backup your iPod first. There are plenty applications for this to be found on the web

1 Unplug your iPod and close all applications.
2 Open the Windows Start menu and click on: “Run”  or  use the “Windows Key” + R to open a grey box.
3 in this grey box type: regsvr32 Wintrust.dll   and hit the Enter key. A popup will show press enter.
Repeat this step for all files below.  Replace Wintrus.dll with names of the files below.

dssenh.dll
rsaenh.dll
gpkcsp.dll
sccbase.dll
slbcsp.dll
mssip32.dll
cryptdlg.dll
initpki.dll

4 Plug in the iPod again and open itunes. Do a restore and then Sync again.
